(option 2) 5:30 am: Meet in Xela's Parque Central, then take a pickup or microbus to the trailhead

6:00 am: Begin hiking up Santa María at the trailhead in Llanos del Pinal

10:00 am: Arrive at the summit, where we admire views, take photos, and eat breakfast

11:00 am: Head back down the volcano, then catch a bus to Xela

3:30 pm: Eat lunch at a comedor in Xela

4:30 pm: Trek ends: either take a bus back to Chico Mendes or continue traveling from Xela
